It was quiet, too quiet. She had been watching the abandoned building for hours and not so much as a shadow moved within it. No pokemon, no people. Just a void of nothingness.

Impatient, she decided to act. With a heavy grunt and a thrust of her bulky boots, the thief kicked down the rusted door. Its hinges shrieked and the metallic partition fell to the floor with an echoing thud.

Lex stepped inside, greeted by a dark, empty void, “Ugh, fucking nothing. We got played,” and that informant would certainly pay the price of her wasted time.

The deafening silence was broken by the shuffle and the flash of a shadow. Her amber eyes followed the pokemon as it disappeared back through a broken door and into another room. Lex’s eyes narrowed on the location, and her head shifted to motion towards it. The Shadow Gardevoir slipped into a shadow, stretching past and and through the crack of the door.

The shadow, that ended up being a Stunky, scurried along to a darker corner of the room. Hecate reeked of death, and they wisely chose to have nothing to do with the shadow pokemon.

Lex clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth, shaking her head subtly as they moved further into the depths of the warehouse.

The pair shifts course, trotting down stairs and deep into the warehouse’s bowels. They reek of Rattata waste and the rotting corpses from the predators that prey on them. The thought of the little mouse brings a distant memory to mind, the ghost of a man. His shadow materializes, crimson eyes sparkling in the shadows.

But it’s not a man, just a beast. Finally, a predator worth their time. A DAZZLING GLEAM lights up the room, and blasts the Mightyena back. It charges, fangs bared and a guttural snarl rips through its throat. Thes curry of small paws, no doubt its pups, hurry off into the distance.

“Don’t mess around for too long,” she warns the shadow pokemon now locked into the canine’s BITE. Viscous ectoplasm drips from the wound as she raises her hand to finish off the Mightyena with a point blank DAZZLING GLEAM.

Lex’s pokeball swiftly enters the fray, swallowing the creature whole.
